Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be played in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a web connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best assemblage of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making machine each and every time.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their profits, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
