Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be bet on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, using a web account. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest assemblage of cards possible in order to come away with money. The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are able to select the most beneficial machine every instance.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Further, some styles of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
